Shanghai, China
January 12th, 2008 by alexanderBack in November 2006, there was team meeting held in Shanghai. It was meant to be the kick-off meeting for the 2007 year, along with discussion with our colleagues in China.
As expected, it was a very tight schedule; meetings and works were cramped into 3 days itinerary. The only opportunity to explore Shanghai city was only night time. Crazy cold night time.
Anyway, here are the photos.

The famous icon at Shanghai, the Coca cola billboard.
Next.. Pimps at Shanghai!

Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road) is one of the world’s busiest shopping streets. Not only that, there are pimps everywhere. It was a mistake for me to walk alone, I was approached more than 10 pimps from end to another end of the Nanjing Lu.
There was one guy, he was so persistent and followed me for about 30 minutes before giving up. I admired your dedication but.. No.. I don’t want to eat fruit, thank you.

Besides the pimps, this whole streets are also overloaded with clothing retail shops. It is a definitely shopping heaven for women.
However, for anyone like me, who doesn’t really speak correct mandarin pronunciation, it was a horrible experience bargaining with people who has the Shanghai Mandarin ascent. Nevertheless, I managed to get myself a winter jacket for RMB 400, good quality - absolutely cost double back in Malaysia.

The famous iconic scenery in Shanghai.

Spot the lover.

The reason I went to buy the winter jacket that night, it was 11 degree celcius.

So many things to see, yet so little time. Going there again? Why not?
